We’ve joined forces with FSB North East Scotland & SBRC to help small businesses get cyber safe. Even if you’re a sole trader or micro business it’s important that you protect yourself from a cyber incident and this FREE session will explain how.

Date: 26 August 2021

Time: 10.30am – 12pm

Cyber-attacks can stop your small business in its tracks. Even sole traders and micro businesses can be a target. So, whether you are self-employed or running a team, there are steps you can take now to protect your business.

Event details

FSB have teamed up with Converged Communication Solutions and the Scottish Business Resilience Centre (SBRC) to offer the first in a mini-series of Cyber support events. In our first session, we will look at working from home/remotely.

Home or remote working can be a godsend for employees. It can mean more time with family, less commuting, and meetings from the comfort of your own living room. However, as millions across the world have switched to working from home they may be putting the security and privacy of themselves, their families, their employers and employees at risk.

In this event, SBRC will dive into the National Cyber Security Centre’s product, Exercise in a Box (EiaB). EiaB can be best described as a tool that recreates real world business scenarios and tests your cyber resilience to it. It is, in essence, a box full of exercises based around real world scenarios with probing questions attached to each scenario. It allows your organisation to do them in your own time, in a safe environment, as many times as you want. It includes everything you need for setting up, planning, delivery, and post-exercise activity, all in one place. SBRC are promoting Exercise in a Box and its benefits to Scottish companies by conducting practical workshops where they facilitate one of the scenarios; in this case working remotely!

After Robbie Ross from Converged has set the scene on why Cyber Security is important, you will also hear from FSB on how we can help keep you safe and support you and your business.

This event is free of charge and open to all businesses regardless of where you are based, both FSB members and non-members are welcome to attend, so feel free to share with your networks.

This is one of many FSB events run across the UK. Be sure to follow @FSB_Scotland on Twitter for regular information to support you and your business.
