Converged Communication Solutions has announced the acquisition of IFB, a leading provider of connectivity and IT services, for an undisclosed sum. The strategic move brings together two well-known Scottish technology firms, reinforcing Converged’s position as a leading provider of secure, scalable, and resilient digital solutions for businesses across Scotland.
Aberdeen's largest home-grown ISP's join forces
The acquisition represents a significant milestone for both organisations. As the two largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Aberdeen, Converged and IFB have played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s digital infrastructure. Founded nearly 30 years ago, IFB has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative connectivity and IT solutions. Converged, founded as an ISP, has grown, organically and through acquisitions, to become a Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) capable of being a single supplier of end-to-end IT services with a broader portfolio of connectivity, telephony, IT and cybersecurity services. By incorporating IFB into the Converged Group, this will create a stronger, more diversified business that will enhance service offerings for all customers.

Smooth transition for customers and employees
The two entrepreneurs enjoy a long-standing relationship, with Neil having started his career at IFB before founding Converged 20 years ago. This shared history and mutual respect further strengthen the collaboration, ensuring a smooth transition for customers and employees alike.
All 15 IFB employees will join Converged, with the entire team relocating to Spires Business Centre, alongside Converged’s headquarters. The collaborative move will ensure continuity of service and centralise the company’s talent pool, bringing the Group’s headcount to 63.
